London: funding from grant-making trusts

The boroughs which receive the most funding are:

  • Kensington & Chelsea (£3.4 million), City of London (£2.8 million), Lambeth (£2.75 million)

The boroughs which receive the least funding are:

  • Kingston upon Thames (£0.16 million), Bexley (£0.13 million), Bromley (£0.1 million)
London: funding from companies

The boroughs which receive the most funding are:

  • Hackney (£2 million), Tower Hamlets (£1.9 million), Newham (£1.4 million)

Sixteen boroughs receive no funding and these include:

  • Kensington & Chelsea, Lambeth, Bexley, Bromley
England: funding from grant-making trusts and companies

The counties which receive the most funding from grant-making trusts are:

  • West Midlands (£20 million), Merseyside (£17.3 million), Tyne & Wear (£14.9 million)

The counties which receive the most funding from companies are:

  • Cumbria (£8.25 million), Tyne & Wear (£6 million), Teesside (£5.9 million)
Scotland: funding from grant-making trusts and companies

The counties which receive the most funding from grant-making trusts are:

  • Shetland Islands (£15.2 million), Perth and Kinross (£2.3 million), Glasgow City (£1.9 million)

The counties which receive the most funding from companies are:

  • Glasgow City (£1.2 million), Edinburgh (£0.29 million), Aberdeen City (£0.23 million)

Fifteen counties receive no funding from companies and these include:

  • Shetland Islands
Wales: funding from grant-making trusts and companies

The counties which receive the most funding from grant-making trusts are:

  • Isle of Anglesey (£0.4 million), Powys (£0.319 million), Cardiff (£0.312 million)

The counties which receive the most funding from companies are:

  • Cardiff (£0.3 million), Wrexham (£0.2 million), Pembrokeshire (£0.2 million)

Seven counties receive no funding from companies and these include:

  • Isle of Anglesey, Powys
Causes & beneficiaries favoured by grant-making trusts

The causes (after general charitable purposes) which receive the most funding are:

  • social welfare (32.3%), health (27.4%), religious activities (27.3%)

The causes which receive the least funding are:

  • science & technology, philanthropy & the voluntary sector, social sciences, policy & research

The beneficiaries which receive the most funding are charities working with:

  • children & young people (31.3%), disability, social or economic circumstances

The beneficiaries which receive the least funding are charities working with:

  • occupation or former occupation, gender & relationships, and nationality
Causes & beneficiaries favoured by companies

The causes and beneficiaries that receive the most funding from companies are:

  • education (63.2%), community/social welfare (56.9%), children and young people (53.1%)
