To give participants a basic overview of the different community building tools online (aka. Social Networking Sites) and other essential skills to successful online community fundraising.

For

Fundraisers who have no or little experience with using websites like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Flickr and YouTube for fundraising.

Learning Outcomes

Use the basic functions of Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Flickr and YouTube for fundraising (We recommend you register and wander around them to get familiar with functions and looks prior to attending)

- An overview of the growing social networking market
- Technical knowledge of how to use social networking sites – growing your network, communicate to yield actions, free tools and applications to maximize your time, crossreferencing between platforms
- Using personal and organisational branding to generate interest
- The power of networking for fundraising – tips & tricks for online and offline networking
- Ins and outs of building a community – How to engage with all your stakeholders and give them personal attention?
- Helping people help you while answering the needs of volunteers, funders, employees, beneficiaries, trustees and the wider community
