With so many changes, it’s hard to find the time to keep up to date so this course will help to explain the law in easy to understand language.

Aims

To enable attendees to understand the framework of employment legislation; recent important changes: their impact on contracts of employment and how to amend them.

For

Anyone with the responsibility for employment in organisations and especially useful for those without an in house HR person.

Learning Outcomes

- Be clear about the legal background to employing staff: recent legal developments and upcoming developments
- Work with a model contract of employment
- Create an action plan for where to amend policies and contracts of employment
- Be clear about risks in employment and how to manage them

- The baseline legal responsibilities in employing staff and those relating to equality and discipline.
- Recent changes in employment law and practical guidance how this will impact on your organisation
- The formulation and coverage of contracts of employment and recent changes affecting contracts (A model contract will be included in the course materials)
- How to collect and use key HR benchmarks.
- How to keep up-to-date on employment law and HR issues
