What is coaching?
The basis of coaching is that individuals can solve their own problems and do have the capacity to ‘manage’ their own situations, they simply need support to do this.
The role of the coach is to provide space and time where an individual can reflect, review, clarify, challenge and explore their own situations and perceptions, in order that they themselves identify the best course of action in their situation. The coach supports this by facilitating a structured, goal focused conversation from which the coachee can identify action for the future.
Who can have coaching?
Anyone! It doesn’t matter what your role is or what level you are in the organisation.
What can I use coaching for?
There are so many topics that people can use coaching for: developing a skill, developing confidence, getting clarity around an issue, managing time and/or stress, career and/or personal development, communication, managing organisational change, managing projects, building teams, managing relationships, management issues. These are just a few! If you are not sure whether coaching is suitable, you can discuss this with one of our coaches.
Option 1 – Individuals wanting coaching sessions
How does the coaching work?
Initial discussion to assess needs of coachee and to assign appropriate coach.
‘Contracting’ meeting to discuss how the coach and coachee will work together e.g. boundaries and expectations, goals for the coaching programme, logistics. This is usually a 3-way contract between the coach, the coachee and the coachee’s manager.
Coaching sessions which usually last 1.5 hours. We recommend that a minimum of 2 sessions are initially booked. Thereafter, single sessions or a longer term programme covering for example 3 or 6 sessions can be scheduled.
Final review to discuss progress made over the programme and to decide whether further coaching/other support is necessary.
Please Note: Each individual will have different needs which will inform method of coaching (face-to-face and/or telephone), style of coaching, location and number/length of sessions. These will be discussed and agreed on an individual basis.
What are the costs?
An average session (based on 1.5 hours) is £140.
These costs are an approximation and will vary dependent on client needs and circumstance, session length and number of sessions booked.
The initial discussion to assess your needs and to find out whether coaching is right for you is free.
