Manage health & safety at work in compliance with health & safety law. Includes setting up a health and safety management system, accidents and ill health at work, risk assessment, fire, and lone working.
Duration: 1 day

Aims

To provide participants with sufficient information and understanding
to enable them to manage health and safety at their work, in compliance with health and safety law.

For

Those responsible for health and safety in small organisations and managers in larger organisations who have health and safety responsibilities as part of their day-to-day work.

Learning Outcomes

- Understand information on how to prevent or minimise health and safety risks
- Knowledge of the key elements of a health and safety management system

Content

- Accidents and ill health at work, causes and costs of work-related accidents and ill health
- Legal framework and responsibilities
- Health and safety management including: policies, risk assessment, monitoring and reporting
- Key issues including: fire, office safety, lone working etc
- Communication with staff – information, training and consultation
