Frequently asked questions

Q: How often is the underlying data updated?

A: Since DSC’s funding from FiMT ended in March 2024, the database is no longer updated each month with data collected on the last working day of the previous month. The date of most recent update was 1 March 2024.

Q: Where does the data come from?

A: DSC maintains a database of charities which meet our definition of an Armed Forces charity. Information on these charities comes from the Charity Commission for England and Wales (CCEW), the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland (CCNI), and the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR). The database therefore contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
