Government and the Voluntary Sector
Central Government and Local Government play a key role in the voluntary sector. They remain one of the biggest funders for the sector and, as such, have a huge amount of influence. As per DSC's principle of Responsible Regulation and Responsible Giving, we believe that Government has a responsibiliy to ensure that all of its interactions with the voluntary sector are undertaken in a way which does not compromise charity's independence and enables them to do the best possible job for their beneficiaries.
