Foyle Foundation’s Small Grants Scheme
Applications are ongoing for Foyle Foundation’s Small Grants Scheme. The scheme is designed to support smaller UK charities, especially those working at grassroots and local community level, in any field, across a wide range of activities. Currently, the scheme is focused on the following:
- Providing one-year grants to cover core costs or essential equipment, to enable ongoing service provision, working from home, or delivery of online digital services
- Supporting local charities that are delivering services to the young, vulnerable, elderly, disadvantaged or the general community either directly or through online support
Charities can apply for grants of £1,000 to £10,000. Applications are considered on a rolling basis. Find out more.

Support Adoption for Pets’ Emergency Grants Programme
Applications are still open for Support Adoption for Pets’ Emergency Grants Programme. The programme supports charities and not-for-profit organisations whose main activity is either the rescue and rehoming of UK pets or the provision of temporary support to ensure pets can remain with their owners. Grants of up to £5,000 are available to funds projects that have a direct impact on animal welfare. In response to the covid-19 pandemic, funding is currently only available for vet bills, boarding costs, food, salaries of (non-furloughed) animal care staff, utilities and consumables. Imperial Health Charity – Compassionate Communities Initiative
Imperial Health Charity has launched the Compassionate Communities initiative which aims to improve the health and wellbeing of people in north-west London most affected by Covid-19. The initiative will support community groups and organisations that are tackling health problems such as food poverty and obesity; mental health and wellbeing; digital poverty and exclusion; and language barriers and misinformation. Funding is available through a range of grants including:
• Microgrants – up to £1,000.
• Small grants – between £1,000 and £10,000.
• Large grants – between £10,001 and £30,000.

Austin and Hope Pilkington Trust grants
The trust is providing grants of up £1,000 to registered UK charities working in areas that have been disproportionately impacted by Covid-19. The current grant round is focused on combatting homelessness. Priority will be given to projects supporting BAME communities. All applicants must have a minimum operating income and operating expenditure of £100,000 to be eligible. The application deadline is Sunday 28 February. Find out more.

Cultural Hardship Fund for Freelancers (Manchester)
Grants of up to £1,500 are available to freelancers within the arts, cultural and creative industries in Manchester whose freelance work has been lost or disrupted because of COVID-19. Applications will be processed on a first come first served basis up to the point the fund amount is fully allocated. Find out more.
