DSC responds to the draft Protection of Charities Bill

DSC submitted written evidence to the Parliamentary Joint Committee on the draft Protection of Charities Bill, which gives more powers to the Charity Commission to tackle abuse and misconduct in charities.

We argue that the bill gives way too much discretion to the Commission to be able to decide on who is fit to act as a trustee and fundamentally altars the relationship between charities and their regulators with potentially negative consequences.
