Lauren Shaw

Researcher

Lauren joined the DSC in September 2019 and works as part of the core research team.

Prior to joining the DSC, she volunteered with the Alzheimer’s Society under the organisation’s ‘Side by Side’ initiative. The initiative endeavours to grant those with dementia greater autonomy in their lives with the help of a volunteer, by meeting with service users on a weekly basis to chaperone outings into the local community.

Lauren holds a BA (Hons) in Sociology with Social Policy from the University of Liverpool, where she was involved in various quantitative and qualitative research projects. Her dissertation studied the position of religion in today’s digital society, with a focus on the impact of social media on religious belief.
