Could you be our next Trustee?
Do you feel like an ordinary person but would like to do extraordinary work? If you care about charities and their work and want to help tens of thousands of charities to help change the world then come and be a trustee for DSC. We’re looking for three good, decent, intelligent people to join our Board. We don’t care what you look like, where you’re from or what your background is – we only care about your passion for our cause. Find out more here.
DSC’s books, training courses, events, research and campaigns help tens of thousands of charities across the UK every year, from small local groups to the largest household names.
Our current board is experienced, flexible and welcoming, but after the retirement of two long-standing trustees we’re looking to add three new people. You don’t need to be hugely qualified or experienced – but you do need to be able to commit, to be open to learning about how to be an excellent trustee and be able to ask great questions of our team.
Experience of being a trustee is not essential. All new trustees receive a full induction, are partnered with an existing trustee for their first year, and are able (and encouraged!) to make the most of the excellent governance training and support DSC provides.
If you have experience of volunteering for or using the services of small charities that would be great. If you have led or supported or worked within BAME charities or communities you are especially welcome. And if you can help with our digital footprint even better!
We welcome applications from any part of the country and DSC will cover all reasonable travel expenses associated with attending trustee meetings.

If you would like an informal chat about these vacancies, please contact Bronwen Edwards, Executive Office Manager, firstname.lastname@example.org and she can answer any questions or put you in touch with one of our existing trustees who will be happy to speak to you.
