DSC is hiring a Director of Finance and IT!

Do you, or someone you know, want to land a brilliant senior role at an organisation that genuinely makes a difference? At DSC, we’re looking for a Director of Finance and IT to join our team.

At DSC, we exist to help charities do their work well. But we can only do that if the organisation behind the scenes is financially strong, digitally secure, and operationally slick.

This isn’t a role for someone who just loves spreadsheets or systems (though those matter too). It’s for someone who understands how everything fits together. Someone who can move easily between big-picture strategy and the practical detail. Someone who knows that when finance and IT work well, everyone else can too.

That’s where you come in.

You’ll lead our finance function, oversee IT and digital systems, and play a key role as part of our Leadership Team. Some days you’ll be talking about budgets, audits, and cashflow. Other days you’ll be thinking about cybersecurity, contracts, or whether someone’s laptop has finally given up.

Does your ‘wish list’ look something like this?

  • A fully remote role, with daily connection to colleagues (and no commute)
  • Working for an organisation that supports the charity sector
  • A friendly, supportive team who enjoy working together
  • Knowing your work has real impact
  • A 35-hour working week over four days, with a three-day weekend every week
  • The trust and autonomy to get on with your job
  • A salary of £54,636 (non-negotiable)

If this sounds like your kind of role, we’d love to hear from you. Click here to view/download the job description and person specification. The deadline to apply is 1pm on 31 July. If you have any issues viewing, please right-click and select “open in new tab/window).

To apply please send a covering letter (no more than 750 words) explaining why you would like to work at DSC, along with your CV, to [email protected].

As part of our commitment to equality, equity, diversity, and inclusion (EEDI), your application will be anonymised during the shortlisting process to minimise unconscious bias.

We don’t object to use of AI, however, please be aware that successful candidates are likely to have demonstrated how they would approach the role and what would distinguish them from others in their covering letter.

The shortlisted applicants will have the opportunity to meet with the Finance Team as well as the formal interviews will take place in August (subject to diary availability).

Please also note you will have to be based in the UK for this role.

And if it’s not for you, please do share it our ideal candidate might be in your network.

“I’m also one of the few people I know (from my friends and family) who really likes their (work) colleagues – even though we’re all different, we share the same values. I also feel trusted to do my job – by my manager, the leadership team and other colleagues – which I really appreciate, especially working remotely” – DSC staff member
