3 tips on getting your staff involved in fraud awareness

Don't be afraid to use the 'F' word!

With The Charity Accountants’ Conference fast approaching,  Jonathan Orchard, of Sayer Vincent, shares his expert advice on how to prevent fraud within your organisation by involving your staff. Jonathan will be speaking on fraud awareness at this year’s conference.

Talk about fraud

Don’t be afraid to use the ‘F’ word- fraud!  The starting point of fraud prevention is to admit that fraud exists.

Assess fraud vulnerabilities

Work with your staff to assess these vulnerabilities for their area of responsibility because they’ll be best placed to know where those vulnerabilities lie.

Build a culture of controls awareness

If staff understand the purpose of controls, these controls will work more effectively.
