Coronavirus funding updates - 17- 21 August

As we receive updates from our research team in Liverpool, we'll post weekly updates to coronavirus funding programmes and more to help you (remember - don't forget to share!)

No time to read 50-page government policy documents? Don’t worry – we’ve done it so you don’t have to. Check out our short summary of the UK Government’s Our Plan to Rebuild policy paper on ending the social lockdown – wherein we summarise the key points, outline current timings, and raise issues for charity staff and trustees to consider (which, let’s face it, you won’t get in the gov.uk version). The COVID-19 Digital Response Fund has just launched. The fund will provide emergency grants of up to £60,000 to non-profit organisations in England delivering essential services. The MK Community Foundation

The MK Community Foundation has launched its latest round of funding, the ‘recovery fund’. This is open to voluntary and community organisations in Milton Keynes, to support costs resulting from a loss of income, adapting services to continue providing support to vulnerable people, or any unplanned costs. Grants of up to £25,000 are available. Applications for larger grants may be considered, but organisations must contact the Philanthropy Team in the first instance. For more information, please see the website here.

Foundation Scotland

Foundation Scotland is now welcoming applications for phase two of its ‘Response, Recovery & Resilience Fund’. This phase is particularly focused on ‘recovery’, and hopes to support organisations to continue their operations in the ‘new normal’, or to adapt existing activities to comply with new regulations. Funding of between £1,000 to £5,000 is available to charities and constituted community groups in Scotland with an income of less than £250,000. Funds are limited, so it is advised that applications are made early to avoid disappointment. For more information on eligibility and how to apply, please see the website here.

Tuesday 18 August

The Barrow Cadbury Trust’s

The Barrow Cadbury Trust’s COVID-19 Support Fund has re-opened with much broader eligibility criteria. The scheme is now open to organisations with an income of between £10,000 to £3 million providing support for refugees and migrants. This includes organisations working directly with these groups, as well as organisations with more general objects seeking to expand or adapt their services for the purpose of supporting refugees and migrants. The maximum grant available is £50,000. There is no official closing date, as the fund will close once it has received enough applications. It is advised that organisations submit their applications early to avoid disappointment.

Monday 17 August

Independent Age Grants Fund

The third and final round of the Independent Age Grants Fund opens today (17th August). Grants of between £5,000 and £15,000 are available to help smaller organisations across the UK working with older people hardest hit by the pandemic. The funding will focus on supporting two main groups – older people living in complex and challenging situations and older people in danger of being out of sight and out of mind. The deadline for applications is 9am on 11th September. Find out more and apply here.
