COVID19: DSC update

We understand that the Coronavirus pandemic is causing disruption, unease and serious concern for many in our sector and beyond.

We want to let you know our approach and how we plan to continue supporting you during this period.

We are following the latest advice from Government and its scientific advisers and are checking for any changes daily. DSC’s CEO and senior managers are keeping the situation under constant review.

As you are aware, Government has advised against unnecessary gatherings and for people to work remotely where possible. DSC remains open for business but all our staff are now working remotely. In light of this, we have had to make the following changes:

  • We will reschedule this year’s Charity Leaders’ Summit to a later date in 2020. Like you, we were really looking forward to the event but given the current circumstances, we’re sure you understand and we will be in touch to let you know the details.
  • If you’ve booked to attend a training course in March or April, we’ll be in touch to reschedule.
  • Our library and bookshop on Holloway Road will be closed until further notice.
  • Whilst our offices are closed, we are still here to serve you – email us as usual.

We’re also coordinating with other leading organisations and seeking to influence the Government around the issue. We’ve developed a number of asks to help charities who will lose fundraising and trading income during this time, and are coordinating with other organisations like CFG, NCVO, and NAVCA.

We’re also thinking about how we can help you if more of your team will be required to work from home, and our teams are busy working behind the scenes to help DSC prepare for the coming weeks, whatever happens.

For many of you, you might also have staff working from home. If you need guidance, check out our policy we’ve just put into place to allow our employees to work happily and effectively during this time.

We really appreciate your patience. Remember – keep calm and carry on helping others.

Best wishes for the health and wellbeing of you, your colleagues and their families.
