About

Whether you regularly report to the board or support the auditors at year end, this advanced one-day online course will give you the knowledge and confidence to do so. Building on what you learned in Finance for Non-Finance Managers – Stage 1 (or equivalent experience), this session provides a deeper understanding of charity finance and further improves your financial literacy.

Through practical examples and interactive discussion, you’ll gain the skills to hold informed conversations with finance colleagues, trustees, and auditors, and confidently contribute to your organisation’s financial planning and reporting.

Who should attend?

Participants should have attended Finance for Non-Finance Managers – Stage 1 or have an understanding of the basics of bookkeeping and accounting.

  • Preparation, presentation, and interpretation of management accounts for multiple projects
  • Explanation of key finance terminology – Going concern, Depreciation, Accruals, Deferred income, Prepayments, etc.
  • Understanding, interpreting, and analysing accounts using key financial ratios
  • Analysing and interpreting year-end accounts
  • Understanding the independent examiner’s and auditor’s reports
  • Managing financial risks
