Online courses take place via Zoom and include brief refreshment breaks.

You will focus on practical tools and techniques that can be applied straight away, using a real project from your own work. The course is designed for the charity and voluntary sector and looks at how to plan, monitor and evaluate projects realistically, even when time and resources are limited. 

Who Should Attend? 

This course is for people working in charities and voluntary organisations who already have a basic understanding of project management. It is suitable if you have completed DSC’s Basic Practical Project Management course, or if you have equivalent experience managing projects and now want to deepen your skills. 

Outcomes 

By the end of the course, participants will be able to: 

  • Plan projects with clear outputs, outcomes, timescales and resources 
  • Build and manage project budgets 
  • Identify and manage risks 
  • Monitor progress and report clearly on delivery and performance 
  • Evaluate projects against success measures 
  • Delegate tasks more confidently 

What Will it Cover? 

The course is delivered over three interactive sessions and includes: 

  • Preparing and planning advanced projects 
  • Budgeting and managing project finances 
  • Risk management, monitoring and reporting
  • Evaluation and delegation 
  • Using practical tools, including Excel templates, to support project management
